4C Weekly Update September 27th

Highlights

-We survived our Track and Field trip as the forecasted snow stayed away and it was mostly sunny!

-We worked on the concepts of regrouping and have started to add two and three digit numbers, with and without regrouping.

-We had our Terry Fox assembly and run today.

-We learned about transparent, translucent and opaque materials. We traced our shadows at different times of the day to find out when they are longer and shorter.

Reminders

-Monday Sept. 30 is Orange Shirt Day-Please wear orange if you have it!

-We will be having a math test on adding large numbers with regrouping on Tuesday October 1st. Please practice 3 and 4 digit addition over the weekend.

-Oct 3 and 10 we are having a special Light and Shadow presentation. The cost is $8 per student. Payments are accepted online. Please make your payments asap.

-No school Friday October 11th and Monday 14th.

4C Weekly Update September 20th

Highlights

-In math we have been working on rounding numbers up to 10,000.

-We know what causes the Northern lights and what other light sources are. Ask us about where they come from.

-We are continuing to build our stamina by writing more every writing period.

Reminders

-School Photos will be next week, September 23rd - 25th 

-September 26th Track and Field field trip all day, please wear comfortable sports clothing (shirt, shorts or jogging pants) and good running shoes. In the case of inclement weather, please make sure your child is layered up in extra warm clothing.

-Many volunteers are needed for the field trip, please contact the school if you are interested. 

-Terry Fox run is in the morning on September 27th.

-September 30th is Orange Shirt Day.

4C Weekly Update

Highlights

-We worked on expanded form, writing numbers in words and representing them as base ten blocks up to 10,000

-We started our unit on Light and Shadow. Ask me about internal reflection

-We met our buddies this week

Welcome to 4C!

Highlights

Our first week is done! It has been great to get to know everyone as learners. Student have adapted well to the new lunchroom schedule. We have started our first book for the year in class Bridge to Terabithia. In math we have begun reviewing place value and skip counting. Ask your child about our STEM activity saving Fred.

This year, our whole school will be using Blogger for our agenda posts and weekly messages. To make it easier for you, you can sign up to have each post delivered directly to your email by going to the top of this page and entering your email by clicking on "Subscribe" in the top box. You can also add the blog right to your home screen of your phone of iPad by following the directions below.  We hope this makes the communication between home and school easier and opens up great conversations between you and your child.
